Elements of art/ Principles of Design

ELEMENTS OF ART:
 Line: Something resembling a traced line, as a band of color, a seam,or a furrowKitwancool by Emily Carr Their are a lot of lines on this painting.
Shape: The quality of a distinct object or body in having an external surface or outline of specific form or figure.

Color: The quality of an object or substance with respect to light reflected by the object, usually determined visually by measurement of hue, saturation, and brightness of the reflected light; saturation or chroma; hue.

Value (tone): Lightness, brightness or value of a patch in a photograph: dark tones correspond to shadows, light tones correspond to bright or highlight areas.

PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN:
Balance: As a basic principle of art (specifically of design), the definition of balance refers to the ways in which the elements (lines, shapes, colors, textures, etc.) of a piece are arranged.Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci  all people are balance
Contrast: Opposition or juxtaposition of different forms, lines, or colors ina work of art to intensify each element's properties and produces more dynamic expressiveness.Hand with reflecting sphere by M.C. Escher their is contrast just to make this photo
Emphasis: Prominence, as of form or outline
